Friday: arrive and settle in
Check-in is from 2:00 PM. Settle in, light the wood fire if the evening is cool and enjoy the view across Lake Baroon from your verandah.
Dinner can be served to your cottage on Friday evening if you order by 3 pm that day. Entree service starts at 6:30 pm and main courses from 7:00 pm. It is the easiest way to begin a weekend, with no restaurant booking and no driving.
Saturday: waterfalls, a long lunch and the spa
Start with breakfast delivered to your cottage between 7:30 am and 9:00 am. Then head out for a walk. Gardners Falls in Maleny is one of the easiest swimming holes, a 300 metre walk from the car park to Obi Obi Creek. For a longer outing, the 4.6 km Kondalilla Falls circuit near Montville drops past a 90 metre waterfall to a swimming hole.
Lunch at Flame Hill Vineyard, a short 2 km drive from Montville village, suits the afternoon. Tastings run Wednesday to Sunday from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm and long lunches from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm, and bookings are recommended on +61 (0)7 5478 5920.
If you want a treatment, book the day spa ahead for Saturday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. A couples massage is a good way to finish the day before a candlelit dinner at the cottage.
Sunday: markets, galleries and a slow farewell
The Maleny Sunday Market runs undercover every Sunday, rain or shine, with fresh produce, local makers, live music and coffee. Wander Maple Street afterwards for bookshops, homewares and cafes, then visit one or two galleries on the Art and Craft Trail.
Check-out is by 10:00 AM, so plan to pack, enjoy a last breakfast and head out for the day. If you would like another night, ask us about two and three night packages.
Good to know before you plan
Dinner and the day spa run Wednesday to Saturday, so a Friday to Sunday stay is the best fit. Cottage rates are for stays of two nights or more, and one night stays are rarely offered on Saturdays. Brisbane is about 90 minutes south and Sunshine Coast beaches are 30 to 40 minutes away.
